Pokemon Moon freezing at 0 FPS after interacting with NPCs and Items

  • Although this doesn’t happen all the time, whenever I interact with an Item or an NPC by walking up to them and pressing A, my game drops to 0 FPS, and the music in the background continues to play anyways. I haven’t been able to figure out why this occurs and why it does or doesn’t happen.

System Information

  • Operating System: Windows x64

  • CPU: Ryzen 5 3600

  • GPU: Radeon RX 580

  • Citra Version (found in title bar): Citra Nightly 1714

  • Game: Pokémon Moon

  • Screenshot of Issue (include the full Citra window including titlebar): No screenshot, as I didn’t find anything out of the ordinary aside from the FPS dropping to zero.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • Due to AMD’s poorly optimized OpenGL driver, you may experience slowdowns.
  • The CPU Clock percentage is not 100%. You may experience unexpected game speed.
  • You have cheats enabled. This might cause weird behaviour or crashes. Please disable them and retest if your game is experiencing bugs or crashes.
