Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon no longer starts up

Issue:
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon was working fine for the past two weeks of play but randomly decided not to open up as of this morning. Looks like it’s loading at first but then the screen blacks out. No sound or graphics appear after that.

System Information

  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
  • GPU: NVidia GeForce GTX 970
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): Citra Nightly 1372

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • You are running out of date drivers for your GPU. You need to install the most recent driver for your graphics card from NVIDIA’s website. https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
  • Enabling Accurate Multiplication is recomended in certain games. If you are experiencing graphical glitches, try enabling this option.

Core.Cheats <Warning> core/cheats/gateway_cheat.cpp:SetEnabled:424: Cheats enabled. This might lead to weird behaviour or crashes
Try turn off the cheats and see if that fixes it.

@tywald Thank you for the tip! I tried without the cheats but, unfortunately, no change.

Updated my graphics drivers and tried with Accurate Multiplication on and off, but no change.

Hm it still says you are using 375.63 drivers which are from 2016. My old GTX 680 could get later drivers than that :stuck_out_tongue:

The other thing you can try if this issue is like Majora’s Mask is to set the region in Citra to match the game.

If all fails try bisect the issue by finding out which version broke. You can find older builds here: https://github.com/citra-emu/citra-nightly/releases

The log file is incomplete. Make sure you follow the steps carefully:

  1. Open Citra, then go to File>Open Citra Folder (Citra>Open Citra Folder if on MacOS) and open up the log folder. Now keep that open in the background.
  2. Launch your game and encounter the problem; crash/slowdown/glitch and close Citra if it doesn’t do so by itself. Do not restart Citra as that will wipe the log of important information!
  3. Now upload the log file in this chat.
