Pokemon Ultra Sun Freezing on Z-Moves

I am currently playing Ultra Sun. Everytime a pokemon does a Z Move in the game, it seems to freeze up. I have searched for a troubleshoot to this issue and it says to turn off hardware renderer but that hasn’t solved the issue. I don’t know if there is no fix for this, but apparently others are able to play sun and moon to the end with no issues, but this is pretty gamebreaking. Appreciate any help.

you should disable ‘Enable Hardware Shader’ and not ‘Enable Hardware Renderer’.
but that may not work anyway, this issue has been made known..

Dear bio3c, #citra-support

I’ve done what you said. But I’m still having the same problem as “dashendar”.
‘Enable Hardware Shader’ is off, but the game still freezes.

The freeze occurs right after the very first island challenge…

I hope someone else can help!
