Pokemon Ultra Sun stuck on connecting to internet screen

I traveled to festival plaza to see if wonder trading would work in Citra but now my game is stuck on the “Connecting to the internet. Please stand by.” screen. Please help I am somewhat far along!

Please help! I want to return to playing as quickly as possible and am unable to with this screen!

Citra cannot connect to Nintendo’s servers. You need to restart the game to get out of it.

There’s nothing you can do besides loading an older save unfortunately. It’s not recommended to only rely on save states, make sure to save ingame regularly.

Its a softlock. Restarting from an older save file is the best way to get around this issue I’m afraid.

And if I do not have an older save file, what do I do

Then you’re out of luck. Save data gone. This is why we always recommend to never only rely on one save method. Especially not Save States as stuff like this can happen.
