Pokemon UM crashes upon loading save state

Issue:
Ever since i updated Citra Nightly to version 1597, my save states for Pokemon Ultra Moon no longer work. When i click on them to load the save state, it lags for 5 seconds and closes Citra out, it doesn’t give me any sort of error message either and it simply just crashes. I have tested both a save file from July 21st and a save state from July 12th, both give the same result, is there any way i can get my save file back, i was extremely far into the game and i dont want to have to start all over again.

It also crashes when you load ‘normally’? Since you said save file here.

I can load the game up no problem and saves from the game itself work, but the saves i have from the save states won’t load, the game freezes for 5 seconds then Citra closes out

You can try older builds here to see if you are able to load the state on any of them: https://github.com/citra-emu/citra-nightly/releases

When you can, immediately save normally in-game and then on the latest Citra, load normally so you can create new save states. It is important to keep saving normally even if you use save states so you won’t lose progress since save states can break between Citra versions.

Save states are not a replacement for normal saves.

Maybe try this:

Though, backup your sdmc folder in %appdata%\Citra first.
