Your log filter is set to *:Critical which is wrong, see screenshot below what it should be:

I have this same problem.

No game was booted in your log. If you are experiencing a crash then do not open citra again until after you posted the log as it gets purged when you reopen citra.

Let’s try clearing the cache. Go to File>Open Citra Folder. Then open up the shaders folder and delete the opengl folder found here. Now try your game again.

Thanks for the advice, but I tried it and it didn’t work. It’s still black, unless I hover my cursor over the Citra symbol on the taskbar.

Lets try out a portable build to rule out a bunch of other issues:

Go to Download Citra - Citra and select Manual download. Then under Nightly Build, click on your operating system’s icon to the right of the latest build available to download the build.
Extract it (.7z can be extracted using Winrar or 7zip) and put it wherever you wish. Inside the extracted nightly-mingw folder, create a folder called user. This Citra should now store all of its config, save files and such inside of this user folder.
Check to make sure that this user folder is in the same folder that contains citra-qt(.exe)
Now run the citra-qt executable found inside of the mingw folder and run your game. If the same issue occurs, upload a log file using this portable build.

Yep, still got the same issue.

Are you perhaps using an external Display connected to your laptop? If so, your laptop’s iGPU’s drivers may be interfering with Citra’s rendering. At least, I can’t think of anything other than GPU drivers being weird causing this issue at the moment.

Nope, no external display. Just the laptop, and the laptop alone.

Also, wanted to mention Citra has worked for me before, and it didn’t start doing this until a couple of updates ago. Is there a way to revert Citra Nightly to an earlier version to see if one of them will work?

Btw, I just wanted to say thanks and that I appreciate your help.

You can download any old version of Citra from our Canary or Nightly repos on Github. Though I doubt that this would work, seeing as you’re the only person to have reported this issue so far and the issue itself sounds GPU driver related to me.

In any case, I’d like to try to update the GPU drivers of your iGPU just in case. It can’t hurt anyways.
In order to be thorough, please follow these steps in sequence:

Download win64_25.20.100.6373.zip from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28289/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-10
Mirror download: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/28289/a08/win64_25.20.100.6373.zip

Then follow this guide to install it: https://www.howtogeek.com/343287/how-to-fix-the-driver-being-installed-is-not-validated-for-this-computer-on-intel-computers/

Now you should be able to install the latest DCH drivers directly:
Download and install gfx_win_101.3790_101.2114.exe from Intel® Graphics – Windows* DCH Drivers
Mirror download: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/751359/gfx_win_101.3790_101.2114.exe

After this try your game again. See if the same issue remains.
