Pokemon X and Y black screen fix

when is citra going to fix the pokemon x and y black screen problem?? we really want to play pokemon x and y

In order for us to provide better support, we need to see the log generated by Citra. This guide will walk you through how you can obtain the log file: How to Upload the Log File.

I found some issues in that log that need resolving:

  • This game requires an audio engine that is not yet implemented in Citra.
  • Citra is currently utilizing open-source system files which may cause emulation to be less accurate, but not affect system stability.

what about the black screen which appears in the intro of pokemon x or y and then the game freezes

The CitraBot told you why. Since the music can’t be reproduced, the game won’t pass the blackscreen. Same thing when starting a battle. Hope that can clear you about that.

About the fix, they are working on it but there isn’t an ETA at the moment.

Iirc this question has been asked 200+ times this year. Please use the search function. I’ve myself answered this tons of times.

  • Due to AMD’s poorly optimized OpenGL driver, you may experience slowdowns.
  • Enabling Accurate Multiplication is recomended in certain games. If you are experiencing graphical glitches, try enabling this option.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • You are running out of date drivers for your GPU. You need to install the most recent driver for your graphics card from Intel’s website. Downloads for Graphics

GPU Driver Version: 9.17.10.2867

This driver is very outdated (from 2012), you need to update.

Download win64_15.33.53.5161.zip from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29969/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-33-
direct link: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/29969/a08/win64_15.33.53.5161.zip

then follow this guide to install it: https://www.howtogeek.com/343287/how-to-fix-the-driver-being-installed-is-not-validated-for-this-computer-on-intel-computers/

Your iGPU has driver bugs so you should use this older build until you buy a new computer: https://github.com/citra-emu/citra-nightly/releases/tag/nightly-1392

Ignore the bots regarding the driver, it is a bit dumb when it comes to old iGPUs.
You should enable Hardware Shader.

What is your issue now? If by “black screen” you mean the black background at the beginning of the game when you step outside then there is no fix for that yet.
