Pokemon X crashes after I pick up an item

After arriving in Cyllage City the background music stopped playing after a little while. It still plays while booting up the game. Game sounds also still work.
As soon as I pick up an item, the game freezes on the pick-up screen.

This would indicate that Citra encountered something corrupted. Are you using a ROM hack or randomization of some kind?

No particular mods or randomiser. Just a Pokémon X rom. If I load a previous state the music still works.

Then you very likely have a corrupted ROM. There’s little else that can cause an unmapped read to crash your game otherwise. You’ll need to redump your game. Please refer to our game dumping guides:

Dumping Game Cartridges
Dumping Installed Titles

Make sure your GM9 is up to date and that you have enough free storage space available on your SD-Card to perform the dump.
