Pokemon X freezes mid game

Issue:
When I play, the game just freezes at random. I just started playing and I haven’t even chosen my starter by the way. It mostly freezes during cutscenes although according to citra the speed is decent (98%). This also happens with Omega Ruby.

System Information

  • Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit Version 21H2
  • CPU: Intel(R) Core™ i3-7020U CPU @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz
  • GPU: Intel HD Graphics 620
  • Citra Version (found in title bar): Citra Canary 2356
  • Game: Pokemon X

btw it’s just the screen that freezes, the music works fine.
