Pokémon X won’t launch after I uninstalled the v1.5 patch

Issue:
Enter a description of your issue here, in full detail.
I uninstalled the v1.5 patch from Pokémon X so that I could edit the game text. Now the game won’t launch and Citra will immediately crash. As soon as I install the CIA patch the game starts working again but text editing doesn’t work with v1.5.

Try disabling the Disk Shader Cache in Emulation>Configuration>Graphics>Advanced Tab. See if that allows you to launch the game. If it does, please upload another log file to see if there are any other issues.

It doesn’t let me launch the game.

Please upload another log file.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • Enabling Accurate Multiplication is recomended in certain games. If you are experiencing graphical glitches, try enabling this option.

Do you have any custom textures installed?

For my other games Omega Ruby and Ultra Moon, yes I do have custom textures installed. But not for X.

Can you try out your ROM in a portable Citra build? It would rule out any issues with your current Citra installation:

Go to Download Citra - Citra and select Manual download. Then under Nightly Build, click on your operating system’s icon to the right of the latest build available to download the build.
Extract it (.7z can be extracted using Winrar or 7zip) (.tar.gz can be extracted natively on MacOS) and put it where ever you wish. Inside the extracted mingw folder, create a folder called user. This Citra should now store all of its config, save files and such inside of this user folder.
Check to make sure that this user folder is in the same folder that contains citra-qt(.exe)
Now run the citra-qt executable found inside of the mingw folder.

It still crashes when I try to open the game. This time I can’t open any game.

Please upload a log file using the portable build.

Then we’ve ruled out your update or removal thereof as the problem. As such, I suspect there might be an issue with your ROM itself. You’ll need to redump your game. Please refer to our game dumping guides:

Dumping Game Cartridges
Dumping Installed Titles

Make sure your GM9 is up to date and that you have enough free storage space available on your SD-Card to perform the dump.
