Pokemon Y getting stuck when opening & playing

Issue:
I am playing Pokemon Y on Citra Nightly 1734, but every time I load a saved state, the game hangs after a few seconds and when the window is minimized, the entire screen goes white.

I have looked at old threads where they have stated different remedies like

  • Enable Accurate Multiplication
  • Delete the opengl folder in Citra/shaders

But none of these have worked for me.

For some reason now, I am able to play it properly now (with lower 30 FPS though). I reset my settings, so it looks like something to do with custom settings.

For some reason, it happens quite a bit of time. But whenever I close & reopen, the shaders value seems to go up and that somehow makes it playable.
