I can not provide a copy of my log as I am on Mac, and the guide offered to do so is not helpful to me, I am also not very good with computers, and am new to Citra, I’ve been playing Y and ultra moon for days, but upon clicking a rom Citra crashes, I have restarted computer, I have tried the “fixes” I have been able to find on forums, I have uninstalled and reinstalled Citra numerous times now, and I have even tried downloading earlier versions to try to see if it was an update issue, this has happened twice now to me, in a week, the last time I just reinstalled and it was fine, I am having 0 luck this time. please help.

In order for us to provide better support, we need to see the log generated by Citra. This guide will walk you through how you can obtain the log file: How to Upload the Log File.

for reference, this is the link that won’t work for me, I’ve looked through Citra and can’t find this option anywhere.

Update** I’m not sure if this is important, but Citra now completely freezes when I try to open a Rom, I downloaded a new rom to see if maybe mine were corrupted, same issue, however SOMETIMES when I “force quit” citra (the window is unresponsive, left it for ages, this is only way to close the application" the game window will pop up displaying speed and frame rate for a SECOND and then close, I’ve checked to see if maybe there is a hidden window, but nothing…guys I’m losing my mind her because I am NOT good with computers.

Ok, bare with me, I’m so sorry for this mess, but this is the most accurate log I could find representing what y’all might be looking for

update again**

So I decided to download Pokemon X, and run it on Citra nightly, the same versos stated above, it worked! however to further test I went to “Emulation”—“Stop Emulation” and it closed the game of course, however now the game won’t reopen and it is acting as the others do, when I click on it, Citra crashes immediately .

disable disk shader cache because when disk shader cache is enable it will crash the emulator.

I have exactly the same problem. Pokemon X ran fine for a few days, then, Citra makes any ROM crash. If you have updates, I would love to know!

How do I fix this?
I can’t find the option to disable it…

The most likely reason is because you downloaded your games.

Downloading games is piracy and illegal, we don’t allow it here nor does any other emulator.

You need to dump your games with a 3DS that has custom firmware installed and a legitimate copy of the game.

If you don’t have Custom Firmware in your 3DS Console, follow this guide from start to finish: https://3ds.hacks.guide

If you have CFW and have followed the guide correctly, go to this site and follow these steps ro dump your games: https://citra-emu.org/wiki/dumping-game-cartridges/
