When Launching Pokemon Y, the game doesn’t launch, greeting me with an eternal gray screen.

Go to Citra>Preferences>Graphics>Advanced Tab and disable Hardware Shaders. See if the game will display anything after that (if you get a gray screen, resize the window, that’s a MacOS bug unfortunately).
