Ok, so to host you need port forwarding correct? Well, neither my friends, nor my internet support port forwarding, so after some research I found out that you can open ports up from your control panel on your PC, would this theoretically work instead?
Also on an sort of unrelated note, when my friednd would try to connect to me before it would say we werent set up right is that bc of the port forwarding?

It would work, but we really do not recommend messing with your firewall settings. Besides, if your router settings are configured not to allow it, it still wouldn’t work. It’s best to configure this within the router settings. For that, I recommend consulting your router’s manual.
