Ps4 controller mapping as keyboard

Issue: whenever I try to map my controller it takes my controller input as keys on the keyboard ( it treats the x button as the return key and O as space etc.) is there a way to fix this?

If you are not using this already, please use DS4Windows alongside your PS4 Controller. PS4 controllers don’t get detected properly by Windows and this fixes it.
