ROM not loading, and sdmc folder doesnt have Nintento 3DS folder

Issue:
Everytime I try and open a rom, upon trying to launch it, Citra crashes. I look into the sdmc directory, and there is no Nintendo 3DS folder, nor does it create one. Any option on fixing this?

Try running Citra as an administrator (right click on Citra’s executable and select “run as administrator”).

If that doesn’t work either, upload another log file.

Did not work. Still went to “Launching” and then crashed and closed itself

Please set up a portable Citra build to rule out permission issues in appdata, or any other issues with your current Citra installation:

Go to Download Citra - Citra and select Manual download. Then under Nightly Build, click on your operating system’s icon to the right of the latest build available to download the build.
Extract it (.7z can be extracted using Winrar or 7zip) and put it where ever you wish. Inside the extracted nightly-mingw folder, create a folder called user. This Citra should now store all of its config, save files and such inside of this user folder.
Check to make sure that this user folder is in the same folder that contains citra-qt(.exe)
Now run the citra-qt executable found inside of the mingw folder and run your game. If the same issue occurs, go to user folder again and see if a folder called sdmc has been created and whether it holds any other folders in it.

Creates the sdmc folder, but no folders inside it. It still crashed upon trying to launch the ROM

Please upload a log file using this portable build.

How odd. Maybe you’re missing some sort of dependency and it’s not telling you. Could you try following the instructions in this link: Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One (Feb 2022) Download | TechPowerUp
