Screen showing black squares in Pokemon X

Issue:
I have spent 17 hours playing the game. Only 1 gym left, hadn’t had any problems before with this file. I boot up Citra and the game freezes. I close it and boot it up again, only to see that the upper screen was filled with black squares. This had happened to me before with Pokemon Moon. Does anyone know what to do to solve this? Also the game freezes after some minutes of play, suddenly

GPU Driver Version: 27.20.100.8681

This driver is outdated, you need to update.

Download and install igfx_win10_100.9466.exe from: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30381/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers
direct link: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/30381/a08/igfx_win10_100.9466.exe

You might also need to install the runtimes: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/

Yes, according to the other user in the thread I linked it is related to msvcp140.dll which is included in those runtimes. They built Citra (https://citra-emu.org/wiki/building-for-windows) and caught the crash below:

thanks, it worked  now back to playing

It was going fine but it freezed. probably isn’t anything bad, but it is kinda annoying that it just randomly freezes

Did you revert the drivers? It’s back to the old 8681.

wait what. i just installed the drives and the runtimes. did nothing else. do i have to do something?

oh i get it. i opened up device manager and my driver was out of date, so i opened idsa and its updating right now

I gave you a direct link to the latest drivers from Intel in a previous post.

yea it worked finally. thank you
