Severe Slowdown with all ROMs

Hello.
Since about two weeks now, all ROMs I attempt to open do not make it past initial loading before Citra freezes completely. I attempted to reset the emulation configurations, but to no avail. In the worst cases, Citra closes by itself, but most of the time the game loads up, seemingly tries to load save data, and then freezes.

I hope for a quick reply and suggestions as to what may be causing this.

Hi, try this:

  1. Open Citra then go to File->Open Citra Folder
  2. Open shaders folder then delete the opengl folder if it is there.
  3. Emulation->Configure... then click on Graphics on the left
  4. Click on the Advanced tab and turn on Accurate Multiplication

The Disk Shader Cache currently has a bug when Accurate Multiplication is turned off causing it to load all shaders slowly from zero every time you start the game and makes the precompiled cache extrememly large + the RAM usage skyrockets until you crash.

I tried it out.
The games get as far as before, though this time I at least have sound for about a second.

Also, something I forgot, the problem exists with both Nightly and Canary.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

GPU Driver Version: 10.18.10.4358

This driver is outdated, you need to update.

Since you have an old GPU which can randomly crash due to a driver bug you might also need to use Nightly 1392 until you upgrade your computer: https://github.com/citra-emu/citra-nightly/releases/tag/nightly-1392

If it’s too slow then your computer might not be fast enough, it is after all an old laptop from 2012 with only integrated graphics :stuck_out_tongue:

I followed the link the bot gave me yesterday.
I’ll try it out now.
(And I definetely will have to upgrade eventually.
My laptop is showing some signs of wear and tear,
especially on the screen and battery.)
