SMT Strange Journey Redux Menu FPS still low

When opening the menu, the fps drops from stable 30 to ~12~19, sometimes below 10.
Battle and negotiation works, but all menus accessed via Y let the fps drop.

Tested on 2 systems with a lot of different settings. It seems it has nothing to do with the hardware, but with the software having issues with fog or something else hidden in the menu image-files.

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • Due to AMD’s poorly optimized OpenGL driver, you may experience slowdowns.
  • Please enable the Vsync option if you are experiencing screen tearing.

No ideas anyone?
It says it runs perfectly and that they are just a minor slowdowns in the voice, which i do not experience at all. Only hard drops under 15fps whenever menus pop-up.

Maybe the current version of Citra runs worse, but which one would run smooth?

Make sure to not use any save states when testing out any issues you’re having with the emulator. Save States are not meant for use beyond single gaming sessions as they are way to unstable for that (they save the entirety of Citra’s state, emulation and all, which means that they also save any and all errors).

You should also try disabling Hardware Shaders in Emulation>Configuration>Graphics>Advanced Tab if you’re on an AMD GPU system. That sometimes improves performance on those GPUs.
