Hello! This is my HD texture pack for The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds

It only works with the European version of the game.

It only covers the user interface and other 2D elements such as:

  • Font
  • Main menu
  • Map screen
  • Dungeon maps (partially)
  • Gear screen
  • Items screen
  • Dialogue boxes
  • Intro art

Textures for the 3D models / environment are untouched.
Only the first 4 dungeon maps were dumped and upscaled. The only way to dump all of the is to replay the entire game, and I definitely don’t have the time for that.

Most of the textures were upscaled using Cupscale and various ESRGAN models, with additional adjustments in Gimp.

  • and probably some others

You can find what models on each texture by looking at the filename. I left original filename exported by Cupscale in order to better document my process. Citra only looks at the first part of the filename, it ignores the 2nd part

Install guide
  • Launch Citra
  • Right-click on “New Super Mario Bros. 2” and select “Open Custom Texture Location”
  • Extract the archive in the folder that just opened OR
  • If using Henriko’s Super Mario 3D Land HD Texture Pack, create another another folder with a name such as 1 and extract the files there, so that the textures take precedence
  • Make sure that “Use Custom Textures” is enabled (in Emulation → Configure → Graphics → Enhancements tab)
  • Launch game and enjoy

Updates:

  • 0.2: small adjustments for title screen. remove obsolete files
