The shield in OOT stays engaged all the time. I have to hold R2 to put it down, but re-engages if I let go of R2

The shield in OOT stays enabled all the time. I have to hold R2 to put it down, but if I let go of R2, it comes right back. You can’t play the game normally with the shield always engaged. This happened as soon as I bought the shield in the first level and equipped it. It’s driving me crazy!

that happened to me one time, try remapping your controls.

Yes, I figured it out. I started a new game and it did it again when I remapped the buttons during game play. So I remapped them again and it finally started working correctly. Apparently they don’t liked to be remapped during game play and will lock up sometimes.

This is also an issue with the ps4 controller
