Ultra Sun Freezes at same point

Issue:
Game speed slows to 2% and frames down to 0 when I get to the same point in the game (receiving the room dex). Have tried enabling accurate multiplication and enablling disk shader cache, which I saw in support threads similar to this one. No effect.

The log file is incomplete. Make sure you follow the steps carefully:

  1. Open Citra and go to File>Open Citra Folder and open up the log folder. Now keep that open in the background.
  2. Launch your game and encounter the problem/crash/slowdown and close citra if it doesn’t do so by itself. Do not restart citra as that will wipe the log of important information!
  3. Now upload the log file in this chat.

What should I do if it says the log file is too big to post?

You can zip it and upload it to something like google drive. Then simply make it public and upload the link to it here

Alternatively, you can open the log file itself and see if it has a lot of the same message spammed at the end. Then simply delete 80% of that message in the log and save it. It should then be small enough to upload. Make sure to give an example of what lines you deleted if you choose to do this.

Yea, your log is full of read write spam. That usually indicates one of a few things:

  1. Bad ROM dump
  2. Bad Cheats
  3. Bad ROM Update
  4. Bad ROM edit (romhack/randomization)

Since you don’t have cheats enabled, do you have an update installed for ultra sun? If so, try removing that by going to File>Open Citra Folder and heading to sdmc\Nintendo 3DS\00000000000000000000000000000000\00000000000000000000000000000000\title\0004000e and edit the name of the 001b500 folder to 001b500 edit or something like that. That will deactivate the update.
If deactivating the update didn’t solve the issue, you can re-enable it by editing the name back to the original.

If you’re not using a romhack or randomized file and the above didn’t work or apply in your case, you will have to redump your game. Please refer to our Game Dumping Guides:

Dumping Game Cartridges
Dumping Installed Titles
Make sure you have enough room on your SD-Card when dumping. For Ultra Sun/Moon I would recommend to have at least 4gb available on your SD-Card.

The first time I tried to play the game I did try using a cheat and it immediately crashed the game. So I deleted the game files and tried to start over. I thought I had cleared everything out and it was playing fine until I hit this point. Perhaps the bad cheat still has something messed up?

EDIT: Deleted the Citra-emu file and restarted the game. Made it past the point where I froze so if it happens again then I’ll refer back to your last response.
