While loading any Game Citra freezes

Issue:
In the beginning it worked very well, I started Metroid Samus Returns to see if it worked, and it did, after that, citra had an update and things started getting worse. Before this Update i was able too complete the Gam two Times and everything worked fine.
Every game including Metroid i just finished before, freezes while loading and then the citra app freezes too.

Disable Accurate Multiplication in Emulation>Configuration>Graphics>Advanced Tab, then try your game again. If the problem persists, disable the Disk Shader Cache in the same menu as before and see if the issue persists. If it still does, upload a new log file.

Everything done, as you say.
No effect. It always freezes in the Game menu, so i can’t even load it.

  • Enabling Accurate Multiplication is recomended in certain games. If you are experiencing graphical glitches, try enabling this option.

Well, let’s set up a portable Citra build to rule out any issues in your appdata:

Go to Download Citra - Citra and select Manual download. Then under Nightly Build, click on your operating system’s icon to the right of the latest build available to download the build.
Extract it (.7z can be extracted using Winrar or 7zip) (.tar.gz can be extracted natively on MacOS) and put it where ever you wish. Inside the extracted mingw folder, create a folder called user. This Citra should now store all of its config, save files and such inside of this user folder.
Check to make sure that this user folder is in the same folder that contains citra-qt(.exe)
Now run the citra-qt executable found inside of the mingw folder and run your game.

Unfortunately, the same effect.
Maybe my updated Nvidia Drivers are the Problem…?
Before, everything worked just fine… :face_with_monocle:

This is basically a fresh Citra install. So the problem isn’t Citra itself. Which means that the problem is either, as you’ve mentioned, driver related, or related to your dump. It’s not uncommon for large singular files like ROMs to get corrupted at some point.

If you know how to DDU your driver and reinstall it, I recommend you do so. If you have access to your 3DS and an SD-card reader, redumping your game might be quicker. Please refer to our game dumping guides:

Dumping Game Cartridges
Dumping Installed Titles

Make sure your GM9 is up to date and that you have enough free storage space available on your SD-Card to perform the dump.

I’ve got it now.
It looks like there was a Problem with the last Update with my NVIDIA Drivers.
The Problem was, that i have chosen the Express and not like before a complete new installation of the Drivers. Now everything is just working fine.
Thanks too @SleepingSnake for all the Help to manage & find my Problem!
