Yo-Kai Watch Soft-locks/Freezes at Save

Issue:
The game completely soft-locks whenever I try to save after around 30 minutes of gameplay, no matter where I save at. The music still plays and the screen still moves but no button can be pressed. (I’ve been using save states to work around this but I’d much rather actually be able to save the game.)

Here’s some issues I found with your log that might help.

  • Enabling Accurate Multiplication is recomended in certain games. If you are experiencing graphical glitches, try enabling this option.

GPU Driver Version: Build 20.19.15.4531

This driver is outdated, you need to update.

Download win64_15.40.46.5144.zip from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29804/Intel-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-15-40-?product=75048
direct link: https://downloadmirror.intel.com/29804/a08/win64_15.40.46.5144.zip

then follow this guide to install it: https://www.howtogeek.com/343287/how-to-fix-the-driver-being-installed-is-not-validated-for-this-computer-on-intel-computers/

Since you have a desktop computer, you probably should buy an Nvidia graphics card to fix most problems because Haswell iGPUs are very problematic with Citra. All your other games (e.g Steam) would run much faster as well, even a basic GTX 1650 would :P: https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-HD-4600-Desktop-125-GHz-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1650/2168vs4039

If you do not want to do that for some reason then you might need to turn off Enable Hardware Shader in the Advanced tab in the graphics options on Citra.
