Yuzu crashes when opening game (Pokemon Legends Arceus) with Vulkan

yuzu_log.txt (5.2 KB)
It used to just crash on me – but after updating yuzu to the latest version (from 930 to 977), its at least polite enough to give me an error message

Before, it would just try to load, then close out with no other warning, almost instantly. I only use this to run PLA, so I haven’t been able to check if it crashes with other games. It does start loading with OpenGL, but models don’t load, and it makes the game almost unplayable.

Hello there!

I have a problem with Yuzu. It opens correctly Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pokemon Sword, but it crashes immediatly when It tries to open Pokemon Shining Pearl and Legende Pokemon Arceus. So, what would be the problem?

CPU: Intel Core i3 6100
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 530

Thank you all!

Try with the latest driver for the Intel GPU: Intel® Graphics – Windows* DCH Drivers?
If that’s not enough, try using OpenGL.

I did all the things you said, but nothing changes. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Hello GoldenX86,

Here screenshots are

Thanks again.

Ah, HD 500 series, it lacks some extensions that may be needed for Arceus. You will want to stick to OpenGL for this game, if it renders correctly.
Consider upgrading your hardware.

I already tried with OpenGL, but it does not work either.
And what about Shining Pearl?
How can I upgrade my hardware?

Thanks!

Similar situation, they require newer Vulkan extensions that are not available on that generation of GPUs.
To upgrade, you buy new hardware to replace the old one, that motherboard is old enough to not offer any upgrade worth it, so you would need to buy a new CPU and motherboard, you can keep the RAM if it is DDR4.
You could also just add a dedicated GPU too, but it would be a good idea to get something better than just a dual core CPU.

What king of CPU and motherboard would I have to buy?

Any Ryzen APU, or any Intel CPU newer than gen 10th would be great.
I recommend a 5600G and an A520 motherboard, but an H610 and 12100 is not a bad combo either, just expect better overall performance with the Ryzen combo thanks to having more cores and a better iGPU.

I was just looking for minimum requires for Arceus

Arceus is one of the heavy games, you want a good CPU to get decent framerates with it, and at least a current low end GPU.

Ok, got It.

Thank you very much!
