Yuzu doesnt launch

So when I try to launch a game using the Vulkan API Yuzu simply closes immediately.
Whereas if I try any OpenGL API I get the launching screen however then a 0fps Freeze happens.

And yes I have the C++ 2022 version from the yuzu downloads page.
And also I just installed the newest driver from intels website.

I wouldn’t bother with yu gi oh games on yuzu yet. It still has many issues. It’ll be one best played on console to avoid issues.

Generally for intel igpu you would always want to be sticking to vulkan. Please try reinstalling your gpu driver or using the beta one (https://downloadmirror.intel.com/742306/gfx_win_101.3616_101.2111.exe) and set a much larger windows pagefile to aid vulkan.

I definitely did not expect the best performance on Yugioh games however considering it is listed as ‘Great’ compatibility it’s kinda weird that it doesn’t even launch.

Now I went ahead and allocated a lot more to page file size. Unfortunately still did not help. When trying to start the game, Yuzu just closes as before.

As for the driver you posted, I did download it and then Intel told me something along the lines of “This driver is an earlier version of your already installed one”. So I doubt an earlier version would fix it.

Maybe I need to dump another game and see whether that will work and if it’s just a Yugioh thingie

I would ignore compatibility rating as well. Basically none of them have accurate reportings it needs to be reworked in future.

For the driver many laptops lock you to their specific ones. You may need to follow Recommended settings there is a section for ‘Intel laptop/prebuilt users with old driver versions’

I already got the newest current driver from intel’s website before I even started this post.

Okay so I tried Brilliant Diamond as well and exactly the same thing happens when trying to launch it with vulkan. Yuzu immediately closes.

So it doesn’t seem to be yugioh games but rather yuzu in general on my device

Also the log looks quite cut off. Its basically random how far the log goes whenever I try to start the game. Sometimes I don’t even get a log, sometimes with 20 lines, sometimes with 40 lines.

Okay, short necessary update. I tried launching Brilliant Diamond on OpenGL instead of Vulkan and after some long startup to load all the shaders it does boot and work
Edit: works to an extent but still unplayable :frowning_face:. The moment you have to select your character model the game gets stuck. Prior to that the intro cutscene did work with 60 FPS. Sad times

I also did just now get the latest GPU driver from intel

  1. On OpenGL: Brilliant Diamond crashes when selecting the character (male/female/design). so exactly the same as the previous driver version.
  2. On Vulkan is literally the same as before. Yuzu closes immediately.

Pardon me I didn’t see the third log only the first two.

To fix diamond pearl you need to dump game update from your console to fix that. Stick to vulkan as well on newer driver not opengl. Your pagefile isn’t set either. You need something like 20gb ideally.

I thought I did set my pagefile size but must not have saved :neutral_face:
So I set it to be 24GB min and 32max should hopefully be plenty.

Regarding OpenGL: I installed the update on BD which fixed not being able to go past that screen. However, whenever I am in a map area the whole screen is black. When I open the menu everything lights up for as long as the menu is open. So not really playable (though I did get constant 30 fps in the outside area)

Can try right clicking the game and use the remove vulkan pipelike cache option to see if it is somehow related to shader corruption.
