Yuzu won't update

I get this message:
" yuzu Installer

Unable to open file handle: Os { code: 80, kind: AlreadyExists, message: “The file exists.” }"
from the maintenance tool.

I already had to update from (I can’t remember what version) to 845.

AFAIR yuzu never updated itself automagically.

Last time I did what was recommended as a manual update : uninstall yuzu and reinstall fresh.

What should I do now?

In order for us to provide better support, we need to see the log generated by Citra. This guide will walk you through how you can obtain the log file: How to Upload the Log File.

This problem is usually caused by a false positive of your antivirus software, most commonly by Avast and AVG. These applications will often incorrectly detect yuzu as malicious software and delete the executable as a result.

To fix this, you’ll need to either create an exception in, disable or uninstall your antivirus software. Make sure to reboot if you choose to uninstall it.

Afterwards:

  1. Close all instances of yuzu and any installer processes you may have running.
  2. Press Win+R, in the opened window type %localappdata% and press Enter.
  3. Select the yuzu folder and delete it. If it is being used by another process, please double check that you do not have any yuzu related applications running.
  4. Launch the installer and install yuzu again.

I only use Win10’s embedded AV. Nothing fancy.

The procedure you detail is what I did last time. I guess it didn’t solve much of the cause of the issue (although it got Yuzu updated alright…

Do I need to keep the log file that the installer created on my desktop or can I delete it? Last time I deleted it…

if you’re updated you need nothing else.
